Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my question is something Elinor Collective can help with?
Is there one specific decision you’re trying to make right now - not just a feeling you want to sort through?
Have you been going back and forth on it for weeks or longer?
Have you already researched it, made lists, or talked to people about it - and you’re still stuck?
Do you already know most of the facts, but not what to do with them?
Have you heard yourself say “I just wish someone would choose for me”?
Is it urgent enough that waiting longer has a real cost?
Do you spend all your time thinking and planning but then never follow through?
If your answer to most of these is “Yes” then you are exactly who this service is for.
If you are currently having thoughts of harming yourself, or feel unsafe, please contact emergency services or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
What makes you qualified to tell me what to do?
Honestly, it's not about my opinion, or what I personally think is right. What I bring is a structured process, built from social work theories, designed to get past what you've been telling yourself and surface what's actually driving the decision. The recommendation at the end isn't me deciding what's best for your life — it's what that process reveals, once we've gotten to the real thing underneath it.
Years of training and real work with people in genuinely hard situations built that process. It's the difference between this and a typical life coach, and it's also why this isn't therapy — a therapist is trained to help you find your own answer; I'm trained to help you find the real question, then give you a pathway forward.
The rest is how I work: I won't soften what the process finds just because it's uncomfortable to hear. I'd rather tell you something you don't want to hear now than watch you spend another six months circling it. And if your situation turns out to be outside what this process is built for, I'll say that too — the same directness that gives you an answer is what makes me tell you when I shouldn't.
Is this only for big life decisions or for something smaller?
Whatever's actually keeping you stuck. Some sessions are about leaving a job or ending a relationship; others are about something that sounds small from the outside but has had you circling for weeks. If it's genuinely stuck, it's worth bringing. And if you're not sure whether it's actually "big enough," that's what the Pre-Screen is for — for $25, you'll get an honest read on whether it needs a full session or has a much simpler answer than you thought. Either way, you're not risking much to find out.
What if I disagree with the answer or change my mind?
You're free to. The recommendation is a professional judgement based on what you've told me, not an order — you're the one who decides what to actually do with it. If it doesn't sit right, say so on the call; that reaction is often useful information in itself, and worth talking through before we finish.
How much does this actually cost?
You're not paying to talk something through — you're paying to leave with something to act on. That's a different service to pay for, and it's priced accordingly. A Pre-Screen is $25, a Clarity Session is $99, an optional written Verdict + Plan is $149, and an optional 8 week Accountability Layer is $500 — $100 comes back to you if you hit your milestones. You only pay for the next stage if you choose to take it.
Some people want the written plan; some just want the conversation and prefer to take it from there themselves. Neither is the "wrong" way to use this. And if you take the Accountability Package and don't hit your milestones, we talk honestly about what got in the way, which is useful information, not a failure.
The real cost here was never really the dollar figure. It's the months spent circling, discussing, collaborating, and re-evaluating something instead of moving on it. Whatever you spend on clarity is small next to the cost of indecisiveness.
Is what I tell you kept private?
Yes, with one limit: if something you share suggests you or someone else may be in immediate danger, that gets reported to emergency services. Outside of that, what you tell me stays between us.
